1 Decembrie - Ziua Nationala a Romaniei

Hello!

Today is Romania's National Day and this is the first time I'm doing my nails for this event. I'm not a nationalist or anything similar, but I do like my country and, due to some changes going on in the political field, I kinda felt the need to express something with my nails, using the colors of our flag: red, yellow and blue.

Here's a little bit of history from Wikipedia:

"Great Union Day (Romanian: Ziua Marii Uniri, also called Unification Day[1]) occurring on December 1, is the national holiday of Romania. It commemorates the assembly of the delegates of ethnic Romanians held in Alba Iulia, which declared the Union of Transylvania with Romania.

This holiday was set after the Romanian Revolution and it marks the unification of Transylvania, but also of the provinces of Bessarabia and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom, in 1918."
The idea of my manicure was to show the colors in a way that only someone who thinks about the flag would see the connection. It's like a subtle way to celebrate! :D

I painted my nails blue, yellow and red and used nail art tape for the lines, then applied black nail polish and took the tape off. I wanted an irregular pattern and the result is better than I expected.

On the back of the nail I used the Louboutin nails technique, inspired by the famous shoes.

The colors I used are: China Glaze - UV Meant to Be, Rimmel London Rita Ora 450 - Daisy Days and Oriflame The One - London Red.

La multi ani, Romania! ^_^
