Alphabet nail art challenge - Letter R for... rain!

"Rain, rain,
go away.
Come again another day."

No, not really... I like rain. Actually, I love rain!
I feel happy when it rains and I really enjoy going out in the rain, as long as I don't have to use an umbrella. Now don't get me wrong, I like colorful umbrellas, and I know how useful they are, but... I hate using them. :/

Anyway, as you've probably noticed, today's post is about a manicure inspired by rain. After my darling (:*) suggested the theme I started thinking of how I could create something special on my nails, to emphasize how awesome rain really is. This is the result:

Initially, I thought about using a gel to create 3D drops on my nails, but, after looking through my box of nail art goodies, I couldn't get my mind off of these tear drop rhinestones I had received from a friend on my b'day two years ago and haven't used yet.

I combined the rhinestones with little glitter bits from my newest glitter top coat, which I will show you pretty soon on the blog, to create a rain effect on the blue & gray base, created with the saran wrap technique (tutorial made by Laula - here). I'm pretty happy with the result. ^_^

Even though I'm not an umbrella fan, I do like bright, colorful ones. And also, what could represent the idea of rain better? :D

 I jinxed the weather with my manicure and I haven't had a sunny/rain-less day after I painted my nails, so the lighting doesn't show the true colors of the base - a beautiful green/dark blue/gray nail polish I received from Iulia a few weeks ago (thanks, Jules ^_^ ), and my first O.P.I. nail polish - I have a Herring problem.
