February's Nails Challenge - Red

Hello everyone!

As I've promised on Thursday, today I'm showing you my nails again, this time in a more elegant manicure - a black/red matte ombre. The theme was "red" but I thought it was too boring so I decided to try this look instead.

The manicure is part of February's Nail Challenge:

I only wore the manicure for a few [rainy] days because the matte top coat tends to shrink(?) the nail polish and even though I had sealed the free edge, it still looked weird. I think it might be because I didn't let the gradient dry before applying the top coat or just because my top coat isn't the best. -_-"

Oh, and another thing - did the mattifying top coat ever leave small white dots on your nails? Mine did this time and I couldn't cover them very well so you can still see them in the pics, if you look closely. Sorry.

I tried doing two versions of the ombre: one that went simply from black to red and another one, on my right hand, that went black-red-black. Unfortunately my camera didn't focus that well and the picture below is the only one that came out acceptable. 

The nail polishes I used this time are:

- Avon Cherry Jubilee

- Oriflame London Red
