Nail Art Marathon - 2. Galaxy Nails

Hello everyone! This week is a very "spacey" week since Andra Kat's second choice in the Nail Art Marathon is "galaxy nails".

I have tried this technique before and I loved it every time. It's dark enough to satisfy my "dark side" and bright/glittery enough to make my girly side go "weeee!". :D

This technique doesn't need many words to be described, it's simple - create a manicure that is similar to the images we have of the outer space/galaxy. Whether you choose to draw planets, the moon, the Milky Way, shooting stars or black wholes, it's still going to fit the theme.

I went for the simple version - the sky with a few stars here and there, but decided to challenge myself and use only textured nail polishes (except for the base).

The nail polishes I used are: Rimmel London I <3 lasting finish - 198 Azure and Avon - Decadence as base coats and I dabbed these textured nail polishes using a sponge: O.P.I. - Get your number, Avon Stardust - Black Sequins and Flormar 392. I used a glittery top coat - Revoline 32, and painted the stars with white acrylic paint.

I'm happy that I used my favorite O.P.I. nail polish again and using textured nail polishes for this technique was less challenging than I thought it would be. It gave my manicure a 3D touch and made me feel like I actually had a mini galaxy on my nails. ^_^
