Do you hear that too? It's such a weird sound...
Ssssss.... Ssss...Ah, yessss! I know what it is! It's my animal print manicure for this week's theme! Iulia B should be thrilled with the zoo she's created in the nail art blog space! :)))
As you've probably guessed already, this week's nails are inspired by snake skin and, because I wouldn't be myself if I wouldn't alter the theme a bit, my personal touch - the Slytherin logo (any Harry Potter fans here?). :D
If you've previously browsed my blog, I think it's safe to say that you know how much of a potterhead I am and that I have done other manicures inspired by these amazing books, before. If not, well, you can find out now. ^_^
This week I used another technique I had never used before. I painted three of my nails green, using Avon - Midnight Green and when I applied the second coat I made sure it was thicker that the first. I didn't let it dry out and, instead, I applied small blobs of gray nail polish using my dotting tool, in order to create the snake skin pattern. On top of the gray drops I added a bit of green glitter.
My thumb's nail was painted with O.P.I. - I have a herring problem (same gray as the one used for the snake skin pattern) and I drew the Slytherin logo using acrylic paint and nail polish.
Because of the drops of nail polish and the glitter, my nails have an uneven texture, which makes me think of real snake skin. I think it's pretty awesome. :D
All in all, I like how my nails turned out, even though "animal print" is not a design I would normally go for. ^_^
