January's Nails Challenge - Inspired by your favorite drink

Hello, hello! ^_^

How has your week been? Mine was super busy, but I managed to do my nails and started re-organizing my nail polishes, so next week I hope I can start showing you my growing collection. :D

Anyway, back to manicures now. This week the challenge was to paint our nails inspired by our favorite drinks. It was an easy choice for me, since I'm "somewhat" addicted to Coca-Cola. *flashes crazy eyes*

When I was little, Cola was the drink I always got to order when we went to a restaurant but rarely had at home. My parents weren't strict when it came to what I drank, but they did offer me healthier alternatives like mango syrup or orange juice. I enjoyed drinking Coke at events because it made it special.

When I grew up, I used to buy myself Cola for school and it became something a bit more ordinary. I don't remember drinking anything else but this delicious beverage, during school breaks for many years.

Nowadays I tried giving up on it a few times, but it's just too delicious and addictive. Oh well. :))

For this manicure I got to use the nail art guides I received from Oana (found on the Born Pretty Store website) and got the pretty half-moon effect on my nails. My idea was to get my nails to resemble glasses of Coke so I drew the "foam" using acrylic paint. ^_^

On my thumb nail and ring finger's nail I tried to draw spilling Cola bottles (what a waste, right?) using acrylic paint for the shape and nail polish for the beverage. 

The nail polishes I used are:

• O.P.I. Big Apple Red - as a base; I think it resembles the Coca-Cola trademark red very well
• Nails inc. Covent Garden and Vollare Color City 346 - to obtain a shade similar to the real Coke shade

I noticed that one of the girls, Violeta, did Pepsi nails. As you're all aware, there is a small feud between Cola lovers and Pepsi lovers. I enjoy drinking both beverages, but I will always choose Coke over Pepsi. That's just how I am. ^_^
