Creative Nails Collab - Rainbow

Hello nail art lovers,

Spring has finally reached us, however it's as hot as mild summer... I was hoping for more "lukewarm" days so I could just lay around in the shade with a good book, however the weather did not allow me to indulge in my dream.

My nails should reflect my mood better though, so here is a rainbow of emotions presented as dots on the tiny white canvases:

Saturday's Theme - Unicorn

Hello, nail art lovers!

I was reeeeally looking forward to this week's theme, as I knew my manicure would turn out super pretty! :D And I am, indeed, very proud of the result!

This is the first time I painted a unicorn on my nails, as well as the first time I used nail foil from Born Pretty Store (#18, you can find it here) and I absolutely loved the result!

January's Nails Challenge - Selfie with your nails!

Hello, everyone!

This week's challenge is one that I was reluctant to join at first. I never really intended to show my face on the blog, but I figured that since it's my profile picture on Instagram, I might as well post it here too. I hope I will distract you from my face with some super bright and childish nails, which I absolutely love and have been showing off to everyone for almost a week. ^_^

Nail Art Marathon 2015 - 12. Rainbow Nails

Hello, nail art lovers! :D

This week's post is late, as well, but I promise to be on time tomorrow and the weeks that will come. The "rainbow nails" idea belongs to Iulia and I chose to interpret it a little different and more glittery. :D

Inspired by a toy/ Inspirata de o jucarie

Hello everyone! Today's post is about a manicure inspired by a toy I love! ^_^
Buna tuturor! Manichiura de azi e inspirata de o jucarie la care tin foarte mult! ^_^

It's a punk-ish Rainbow Hedgehog with a belly button that I received a few years ago from my parents (yes, they still consider and treat me like a kid). I love his bright colors and the fact that he's incredibly soft. <3

E un Arici Curcubeu mai punk, cu buric, pe care l-am primit acum cativa ani de la ai mei ( da, ei inca ma considera si ma trateaza ca pe un copil). Ador culorile lui vesele si faptul ca e incredibil de moale. <3

Spots & dots

I wanted to try this Splatter Nails Tutorial but I gave up because I do not own any acrylic nail polish, so I invented my own technique. I used a toothbrush and I just pressed it really quickly onto my nails, after applying regular nail polish on it... I used a white base and "all the colors of the rainbow".
I  bought a few bright neon colors last week and I wanted to try them, so I thought this would be a fun and interesting way to see how they look together.
I think they turned out really nice and they add a touch of happiness to the last days of summer...

Ombre/Gradient Skittles Nails

A new day, a new post! :D

This is a manicure I had about a month ago, before my exams started. I used the Ombre (also known as gradient) technique - there are many tutorials on YouTube (for example: http://youtu.be/P2eXBjZ52lM ) so I won't get into details on how to make them - and I used many colors so I would make some sort of a rainbow with my nails... :)
I really like how it turned out and it put me in a cheerful mood, even though I had to study for my finals.

You will need a piece of sponge or a small make-up sponge, a piece of plastic on which you will mix the colors and a clean brush for the nail edges - where the sponge won't reach. You'll probably have to change the sponge after applying each color so I suggest you have more small pieces with many corners ( my sponge was star shaped).

I used Maybeline products, "Colorama" to be more exact, and I mixed them with French White:
- for the blue nails I used Party Blue
- for the pink ones I had Bubblicious and Urban Coral
- for the green nails I combined Green Park and Urban Turquoise
- the orange nails were painted with Urban Lemon, Urban Coral and Urban Orange
- and for the purple ones I used Dark Plum.

The top coat was another product from Maybeline - Express Manicure.

Even though it seems a bit complicated, I assure you that it isn't, once you get used to using the sponge as a Nail Art instrument and, as long as you don't mind having to clean your fingers around the nails, afterwards... :P

Bye bye! ^_^
